We are based at Sandton Mediclinic Hospital, offering convenient access to on-site laboratory and radiology services. This allows us to facilitate urgent admissions and provide emergency care without delay. We care for our patients in both the ICU and Neonatal ICU, located just a short distance from our consulting rooms, as well as in the paediatric ward.
Your child should attend regular visits with a qualified paediatrician from birth until approximately 2–5 years of age to ensure that important health conditions are identified early. During routine wellness consultations, we clinically screen for a range of medical conditions, including hip dysplasia, failure to thrive, reflux, milk allergy, developmental delay, cardiac conditions, respiratory concerns, neuromuscular disorders, leukaemia, malignant conditions or masses, ophthalmic concerns, eczema, childhood diabetes, and immune disorders, among others. These assessments form part of our daily practice during general health check-ups.
If your child becomes unwell, we provide care across the full spectrum of illness, from minor conditions such as runny noses to severe illness requiring critical care – for patients from the newborn period up to 13 years of age.
We have a special interest in the care of premature infants and newborns, while continuing to support children’s health through to 13 years of age. We also assist families during the challenging early weeks of parenthood and beyond. We perform lung function testing in our rooms to support accurate asthma diagnosis and ongoing management in children.
In addition, we conduct pH probe studies for selected infants who experience feeding difficulties or feed refusal, where severe reflux requires comprehensive investigation.

We work within a multidisciplinary network and collaborate closely with a highly skilled team of paediatric subspecialists and allied health professionals. This includes paediatric ENT specialists, paediatric surgeons, speech therapists, occupational therapists, child psychologists, neurodevelopmental physiotherapists, and respiratory (chest) physiotherapists, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care for our patients.
Dr Richard, a respected and accredited paediatric pulmonologist, consults daily within our practice and provides specialised respiratory care for children requiring expert pulmonology assessment and management. In addition, a paediatric neurologist and paediatric gastroenterologist are available on a weekly basis to support patients with more complex neurological and gastrointestinal conditions.
A dedicated team of chest physiotherapists also works within our rooms, providing respiratory therapy for infants and children experiencing bronchopneumonia and other chest-related conditions.
Our experienced nursing sister administers childhood vaccinations with a gentle, reassuring approach, allowing families to conveniently complete immunisations and routine paediatric consultations during the same visit in a safe and reliable setting. She also offers guidance on infant feeding, introduction of solids, and general child health advice, delivered with warmth and compassion.
